Oblada melanura

Recommended

The Saddled seabream is native and abundant in our waters. It spawns between April and December and usually ranges from 15 to 20 centimeters in length, but can grow up to 30 centimeters, and its weight can exceed 1 kilogram. It is caught using static nets, longlines, vertical lines, rods and spearguns.

It is found mainly in areas with rocky bottoms or dense vegetation and clear waters at depths between 1 and 30 meters. It is an omnivorous fish and feeds mainly on small invertebrates and plants.

Prefer locally harvested seafood products by coastal small-scale fisheries.
